Karish, Tanin Gas Fields in Israel Could Be Targeted Amid Rising Tensions
A document circulated by Iran’s state-run media mentioned four points, including references to the Karish and Tanin fields as possible targets, though the other points were unclear due to blurring, according to reports.
An Iranian military source told semi-official outlets that additional sites, such as Aramco facilities, Yanbu oil installations in Saudi Arabia, and the Fujairah pipeline in the United Arab Emirates, could be added to Tehran’s list of targets “if Trump escalates further.”
Trump has set a deadline of 8 pm Eastern Time Tuesday (0000GMT Wednesday), threatening to destroy bridges and power plants in Iran unless the Strait of Hormuz is reopened and an agreement is reached.
Reports indicate that regional tensions have remained high since February 28, when Israel and the US launched a joint offensive against Iran. In response, Tehran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US forces, causing casualties, damaging infrastructure, and disrupting global markets and aviation.
