Trump Says Thousands of Americans Returned Safely from Mideast
“If you are a US Citizen in the Middle East, and you want to come home, please register with the State Department at Step.State.Gov.,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account.
He further explained the evacuation process: “The Department will identify where you are, and provide travel options to you. We are already chartering flights, free of charge, and booking commercial options, which we expect will become increasingly available as time goes on.”
The situation intensified after the US and Israel conducted large-scale strikes on Iran on Saturday, reportedly killing nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and senior military officials.
In retaliation, Iran has carried out drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and Gulf nations, which host US military facilities.
Six US service members lost their lives and several others were injured during an Iranian strike on a tactical operations center in Kuwait, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).
